One Book, One Community author visit

Monday, Oct. 28 | 7-9 p.m. | Fargo Air Museum (1609 19th Ave N)

Best-selling author Keith O’Brien, author of “Fly Girls: How Five Daring Women Defied All Odds and Made Aviation History,” will visit the Fargo Air Museum (1609 19th Ave N) on Monday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m., for a presentation and book signing.

This visit is part of the 2019 One Book, One Community reading project. MSUM’s Livingston Lord Library helps sponsor this collaborative endeavor, in partnership with the Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo public libraries, Concordia College’s Carl B. Ylvisaker Library, North Dakota State University Libraries and the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County.

“Fly Girls” is the previously untold story of five remarkable female aviators, including Florence Klingensmith, a native of Oakport Township in Clay County, MN, who competed against men in the high-stakes national air races of the 1920s and 1930s. In conjunction, Moorhead will be celebrating Florence Klingensmith Day on October 28.

This event is free and open to the public.
