Strong MSUM Presence in Theatre B Production
Theatre B, Fargo-Moorhead’s only resident professional theatre company, is producing its current play with a good bit of help from MSUM students and alums. The play, How the World Began, has three characters who argue over science and religion in a tornado-ravaged Kansas town. Two of the three actors are affiliated with MSUM. Kate Aarness is a 2016 graduate from the MSUM theatre program, and Doug Hamilton has a long history with MSUM. He graduated in 1971, and worked over the years as a teacher, an assistant to the president for media and community relations, and executive director of the university’s alumni foundation.
The show’s properties designer is Carina DuMarce, a senior MSUM theatre major. Third-year technical theatre student Brodigan Morton designed the scenery and lights. The director play’s director is David Wheeler, who is in his second year of retirement after 28 years as an MSUM theatre professor.
How The World Began is playing at the Broadway Theatre Garage (409 Broadway N, Fargo). Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until Oct. 15, with 2 p.m. Sunday matinees on Oct. 2 and 9.
