Minnesota State University Moorhead President Anne Blackhurst has named Gary Haugo as Vice President for University Advancement. In this position, Haugo will provide executive leadership for a newly restructured division responsible for external relations activities including fundraising, alumni relations, marketing and communications.
“I am thrilled to welcome Gary to the MSUM community and the Dragon family,” said Blackhurst. “I know that, under his leadership, the division of University Advancement will attract and develop the resources necessary for MSUM to fulfill its purpose of transforming the world by transforming lives.”
The vice presidency became vacant March 31 after the retirement of former vice president Laura Huth.
“I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to join the MSUM community,” said Haugo. “MSUM is a university with momentum, strong and purposeful leadership and vision for the future that I want to be a part of. I look forward to joining an experienced team of Advancement professionals and mobilizing the alumni, parents and friends to join us in “transforming the world by transforming lives.”
