Funeral Friday for former MSUM student and Aitkin County sheriff’s investigator Steven Martin Sandberg
Sandberg’s funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m.

Campus Colleagues,
It is with heartfelt sadness that I write to inform you that former MSUM student and Aitkin County sheriff’s investigator Steven Martin Sandberg was killed Sunday in a shooting at a St. Cloud hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday.
Our deepest condolences go out to Investigator Sandberg’s wife Kristi, also an MSUM alum, and their daughter Cassie Sandberg, who is a current MSUM student. We mourn the Sandbergs’ loss and the loss of a Dragon family member.

Sandberg’s funeral is on Friday, October 23 at 11 a.m. The funeral is at the Aitkin High School at 306 2nd Street Northwest in Aitkin.
Burial follows the funeral service on Friday, October 23 at Bennettville Cemetery, which is 9 miles south of Aitkin.
