Beta Beta Beta is the National Biological Honor Society. The North Central District 3 Annual Meeting was held at the University of Iowa April 17 and 18, 2015. Four members of the Wallert Cancer Research Team that are Beta Beta Beta members presented at this meeting.
Ximena Suarez-Sousa, School of Teaching and Learning, presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association that took place in Chicago.
Dr. Doris Walker-Dalhouse, Professor Emerita, STL, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Literacy Educators & Researchers (ALER). Her term will begin in November 2015 and end In November 2018.
Linnea Fitterer, who earned a BA from the School of Visual Arts with an emphasis in Art History in 2014, has just been promoted to the position of Public Art Manager for the Cincinnati based organization called ArtWorks. In this role, Fitterer will oversee a variety of new and existing public art projects from conception to completion.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy inducted five new members into ΣΠΣ (Sigma Pi Sigma), the National Physics Honor Society. Sigma Pi Sigma chapters are restricted to colleges and universities of recognized standing that offer a strong physics major.
