Five Finalists for Dean of Education and Human Services to lead open forums in March; first held today
Dr. Ok-Hee Lee is Interim Dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Minnesota State University, Moorhead. She served as Co-Chair of the School of Teaching and Learning from 2006 until 2014. Dr. Lee received her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Indiana University in 2004, and her M.A. in school administration from Indiana University in 1994. She earned a B.A. in elementary education from Seoul National Teacher’s College in 1988, and was an elementary school teacher in Seoul from 1988 to 1991. She has been at MSUM since 2001. Her open forum is Wednesday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m. in CMU 203.
Dr. Kathleen Brock is Interim Lead Instructor of Education Research at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. She was Vice President of Academics at Minnesota State Community and Technical College /M State in Moorhead from 2011 to 2014. She was Dean of Instruction at Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minneosta from 2007 to 2011. Dr. Brock received her Ph.D. in higher education administration from Iowa State University in 1994. She holds an M.A. in adult and higher education from the University of South Dakota and a B.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Northern Iowa. Her open forum is Thursday, March 5, at 1:00 p.m. in CMU 203.
Dr. John Lemberger is Chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Dr. Lemberger received his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He holds a M.S. in biology, as well as secondary life sciences certification and a B.A. in biology from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. His open forum is Wednesday, March 11, at 2:00 p.m. in CMU 203.
Dr. Paul Gore is Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Director of the Office of Institutional Research at the University of Utah. Dr. Gore received his Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 1996 from Loyola University, Chicago. He received an M.A. in guidance and counseling from Northeastern Illinois University, and a M.S. in applied biopsychology from the University of New Orleans. He holds a B.S. in biology and psychology from St. Louis University, graduating magna cum laude. He is a former U.S. Marine. His open forum is Thursday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m. in CMU 205.
Dr. Jeremy Carney is Professor of Social Work at Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Dr. Carney received his Ph.D. in education with an emphasis in occupational and adult education from North Dakota State University in 2009. He earned his M.S.W. from the University of Minnesota in 1997, and his B.S.W. from MSUM in 1994, graduating magna cum laude. He was Director of the Mental Health Care Associate/Pre-Social Work program at the North Dakota State College of Science for six years before joining MSUM in 2005. His open forum is Monday, March 23, at 3:00 p.m. in CMU 203.
