Spring semester is ‘a wrap,’ and summer session is right around the corner!
Have you sent out your welcome letter and syllabus for your summer session students? Instructional Technology Services offers a sample welcome letter on their Teaching & Learning Resources page.
You can send your revised welcome letter either as an attachment or copy and paste the text into an email. To send your email directly from the Classlist in Desire2Learn, use the steps below:
1. Go to Communication + Classlist.
2. Make sure you display ALL students on the page. Increase the “per page” number if necessary.
3. Click the check box at the top left of the list (to the left of the Email button). This will select everyone on the classlist.
4. Click the Email button.
The Compose New Message pop-up window appears. Your students’ email addresses will be entered automatically into the Bcc field.
5. Enter a subject line and text in the fields provided.
6. Scroll to the bottom and add a file attachment, if necessary (e.g., welcome letter and syllabus).
7. Click [Send].
