Happy Birthday to the Wellness Center

Next week the Wellness Center will be celebrating five years at its current location.

In 1998 the Student Health and Wellness Advisory Committee began discussing plans for a Wellness Center.

In 2002, President Barden appointed a Wellness Center task force, and in 2005 the Wellness Center became a temporary building at the Edison school location while its current location was being constructed.

On April 6, 2009 the new Russell and Ann Gerdin Wellness Center opened its doors.

Most recently in 2013 the Wellness Center has seen record breaking attendance with 1,325 participants in a single day, and a daily usage of 500-900 participants.

Thank you to all of the Wellness Center’s founding leaders and contributors for making the Wellness Center the successful operation it is today!
