Alum Dan Nygard will read from his book “Rounds”

Minnesota State University Moorhead graduate and North Dakota author Dan Nygard, a member of the Minnesota National Guard who served in Iraq, will be reading from his book “Rounds” at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Hunt Club in the basement of Usher’s House at 700 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead, Minn.

From April 2006 until July 2007, Nygard was deployed to Iraq with the Minnesota National Guard. During graduate school at MSUM, Dan was selected to be the Dean’s Graduate Student Lecturer in October 2010, when he spoke about his process for writing “Rounds” based on his experiences in Iraq. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree from MSUM in 2011.
