Gerontology program awarded grant to support Careers in Aging Week
MSUM hosts 11th Annual Gerontology Colloquium Wednesday, April 13 from 4:30-6:10 p.m. in Lommen Hall 108.
The Gerontology Program in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice has
been awarded a $200 grant from the Gerontological Society of America and the
Association for Gerontology in Higher Education to support Careers in Aging Week
activities.
Careers in Aging Week is an annual event intended to bring greater awareness and visibility to the wide-ranging career opportunities in aging and aging research. Universities and colleges across the country participate by sponsoring events at their schools or in their communities. MSUM will host the 11th Annual Gerontology Colloquium on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 4:30-6:10 p.m. in Lommen Hall 108. This year’s invited speaker is Chelsie (Pochucha) Plath, a 2007 MSUM Honors Program graduate (Summa Cum Laude) with majors in Gerontology and Social Work. Following graduation, Chelsie was the Social Services Director at Golden Living Center—Franklin until her recent promotion to Social Worker on the Sub-Acute Unit at Golden Living Center—Hillcrest, in Wayzata.
