Feminist filmmakers topic of March 31 talk

A Women’s History Month presentation on “Resistance is the Secret of Joy: Feminist Images of Women in Film” will be delivered by Women’s Studies Professor Nancy Jones at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31 in CMU 205. This presentation will examine how feminist filmmakers resist stereotypical images of women at the intersections of race, class, sexual orientation, age, and different abilities in brief clips from several films, including “Daughters of the Dust”, “Bastard Out of Carolina”, “But I’m a Cheerleader”, and “Antonia’s Line”. The presentation will be somewhat informal and involve discussion.
