Faculty development book talk on Monday
Don’t forget about the Book Talk Event on Monday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. in CMU 203. Learn about integrating writing, critical thinking, and active learning.
The featured book: “Engaging teaching: The professor’s guide to integrating writing, critical thinking, and active learning in the classroom” by John Bean, Professor of English, Writing Program Director, and Chair of the University Task Force on Teaching and Learning at Seattle University.
Bean’s premier work uses various writing and thinking strategies to transform students from passive learners to more active learners, while deepening their understanding for the subject matter.
Kevin Zepper, Corrick Center and Theresa Hest, Communication Studies, will talk about the book’s ideas and how to use them in your classroom. Students are always welcome.
