Faculty members of the School of Performing Arts are presenting a Faculty Recital Thursday, September 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Glasrud Auditorium in Weld Hall.

Performers are Terrie Manno, Kevin Priebe, Erynn Millard, David Ferreira, Tiana Grise, Earnest Lamb, Elise Nelson, Jenny Dufault, Stephen Sulich (Concordia College faculty member performing as a guest), Kevin Zepper (MSUM English faculty member performing as a guest), Tom Strait, Michael Krajewski and Allen Carter. Kevin Zepper and Roger Gress to perform Sept. 30

MSUM faculty member Kevin Zepper and performance artist Roger Gress perform at Red Raven Espresso in Fargo Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m.  The pair will entertain with Gress on drums and Zepper on words. This event is free and open to the public. Red Raven is located at 916 Main Ave. Gress is known for his performances as a drummer, singer-songwriter and performance artist. Lines&Notes Performs at International Conference

Terrie Manno (School of Performing Arts) and Kevin Zepper (English) presented their collaborative exhibition of poetry and music (Lines&Notes) at the Hawaii University International Conference on Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Education in Honolulu on January 4, 2015.

Kevin Zepper and Terrie Manno will be performing tonight at 7 p.m. inside Stoker’s in the Hotel Donaldson. This event is free.

Lines&Notes is a collaborative exhibition with pianist Terrie Manno and poet Kevin Zepper. In some selections, poems become movements based on a theme. Other works are the realization of random words and musical phrases based on author William S. Burroughs cut-up method. Some of their work is specific to each audience: newspaper clippings from local and school papers and “lines” from the audience arranged into poetry. Poetry reading at Red Raven Nov. 12

Carol Kapaun, (Counseling Center, Inc.), and Kevin Zepper, (MSUM), will read selections of their work at Red Raven on Wednesday November 12th at 7 pm. A half hour open mic begins the event with Kapaun and Zepper reading at 7:30 pm. Kapaun is the author of the Knuckledown Press LLC ebook, Mamababy. It is available as a download through Amazon.com. Hannah Severtson and Kevin Zepper gave presentation at Association of College and University Housing Officers-International Conference in Kansas City

Hannah Severtson, Director of Learning Communities, and Kevin Zepper, Professor of English gave a presentation at the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I) Conference in Kansas City, Missouri on October 26th, 2014. Their presentation, “ It’s an Open Book: Innovative ways to Incorporate Academic Departments, Classes, and LC Programming,” focused on creating strategies to develop courses for LLC classes. Severtson also co-presented with Sally M. Adams, Georgia Southern University, “Developing and Expanding your LLCS: It’s Easy as A, B, C.

Professors Patrick Vincent (Visual Arts) and Kevin Zepper (English) created a broadside at the request of the Northern Lights Library Network. Proceeds from the sales of the broadside will be used for a new scholarship fund available through NLLN. The broadside, titled “Used Poetry,” is a limited run and the first in a series. Interdisciplinary partnership brings music and poetry together

Professor Terrie Manno, Music, and Kevin Zepper, MFA English, will present their collaborative music and poetry to students in Fox Theater on the Minnesota State University Minnesota campus on Friday, April 11 at 3 p.m. This is an interdisciplinary partnership Manno and Zepper began last year. Some of the work involves the William S. Burroughs “cut-up” approach to poetry.

This convocation will focus on artists working with other artists, integrating the arts and humanities in performance.

Kevin Zepper, author of “Sugartown” and three other chapbooks, will read from Noon – 1 p.m. at the Marshall-Lyon County Library and from 7-8 p.m. at SMSU, Charter Hall 201.

Zepper to present prose poetry at culture conference

Kevin Zepper, MFA, will present his prose poetry at the 35th Annual Southwest Popular and America Culture Conference in Albuquerque, N.M., on February 21. His presentation is titled “Finding Violins in “God”: A Cultivation of Poetry through Pop Music.”

Zepper is an Associate Professor in the English Department.

Join the Writers Inspired Narrative Group session tonight

The Writers Inspired Narrative Group will meet Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m., in Weld Hall Study Library, Weld 201. This is a safe, non-judgmental environment for students to write about “Who am I?” resolving personal issues or concerns, and self-exploration. All students are welcome.

Christiansen and Zepper present at The University of South Dakota

Professors’ Ryan C. Christiansen, MFA, and Kevin Zepper, MFA, will present at the John R. Milton Conference at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota, Oct. 31–Nov. 2.

Christiansen is the Publisher & CEO for Knuckledown Press LLC, which publishes literary fiction and creative nonfiction titles in English for worldwide distribution in electronic formats. Christiansen teaches English part-time at Minnesota State University Moorhead, North Dakota State College of Science, and North Dakota State University, and he is the Associate Editor for the Electronic Book Series at New Rivers Press.
