Terrorist mindset topic of MSUM discussion Friday

MSUM will host a 9/11 panel discussion on “Understanding the Terrorist Mindset” from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday in Weld Hall Glasrud Auditorium at MSUM.

MSUM psychology professor Derick Dalhouse will moderate the community remembrance event. The panel will include:

* Clay Routledge, North Dakota State University Department of Psychology, presenting “What Motivates Suicide Bombers? Emerging Research on the Psychology of Ideologically Driven Self-Sacrifice”

* Kathryn Gordon, NDSU Department of Psychology, presenting “An Interpersonal-Psychological Explanation for Suicide Bombing”

* Olivia Melroe, MSUM Department of Psychology, “Threat Assessment.”

The event is free and open to the public.
