Miss North Dakota is MSUM Student Katie Ralston

The newly crowned 2010 Miss North Dakota is MSUM student Katie Ralston, a junior Communication Studies major. Her platform will focus on talking with school students about leadership. Last year’s winner was Tessie Jones, an MSUM Art and Design major.

Honestly shocked

There’s a reason that Carrington’s Katie Ralston of Carrington looked shocked when she realized she was the new Miss North Dakota — because that is exactly how she felt.

As the pageant’s finale played out aturday in Williston, Ralston became more and more nervous. She stood there with the rest of the five finalists, happy to have Williston contestant Stephanie Richter with her because they’d become friends as they’ve competed in past Miss North Dakota pageants.
