Miz Wizard’s Science Secrets March 23

Miz Wizard’s Science Secrets presented by Jane Curry will be held Tuesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in King Hall 110. It’s free and open to the public. Barbara Knight, aka Miz Wizard, tells stories about women’s contributions to science, engineering, invention, and math; revolutionary research and media portrayals; and obstacles faced and overcome by women whose passion is discovery. Presenters needed for Expanding Your Horizons Conference

Every year, MSUM participates with NDSU in the Expanding Your Horizons Conference for 7th-9th grade girls. This year’s conference is on Saturday, April 10th, 2010, and we are looking for volunteers to present workshops for this wonderful cause! Would you be willing to donate your time to provide workshop participants with an interactive, hands-on look at a career in your field? Even if your career doesn’t directly involve math and science, you probably needed those courses to pursue your own career path. Click the headline to read more.

St. Catherine’s Prof to Keynote Women’s Conference

Dr. Cynthia Norton, professor of biology and women’s studies at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, will provide the keynote address at the 9th Annual Red River Women’s Studies Conference set for Friday, Nov. 6, on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus.
