Abstraction 100 showing at MSUM through Sept. 22

MSUM’s first exhibition of the fall semester, “Abstraction 100”, is a centennial exhibition that marks 100 years since non-objective art was first recognized. It will be showing through Sept. 22 in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gallery, and feature the work of 31 artists, demonstrating the breadth of approaches possible within abstraction, and the wide variety of methods and materials that can be employed. BFA exhibit opens April 12

An MSUM student art exhibit will be on display April 12-25 in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts gallery. The exhibit is in partial fulfillment of students’ bachelor of fine arts degrees. A reception for the artists will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, April 15 in the gallery. It’s free and open to the public. Art faculty, students have work selected for exhibitions

Department of Art & Design students and faculty have had work selected for local, national and international exhibitions recently. The students of the advanced sculpture class have submitted designs for a public art piece that will be installed outside of the Plains Art Museum for the next year. The proposals were voted on by the public and the piece will be created by the end of the semester. Click headline for more great news about our faculty and students.

Don Clark’s photos accepted into juried exhibitions

Don Clark, Professor, Art & Design, recently had three images juried into “X by Y: Digital Art in 2010,” an international Juried Exhibition at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Clark has also recently had a photograph from the same series accepted into “Of Memory, Bone & Myth,” a national juried photographic exhibition at the University of North Dakota.
