Vicki Riedinger received a community grant from Sertoma International in the amount of $4,712 for the purchase of four new portable screening audiometers for the MSUM Speech-Language & Hearing Clinic. This grant was supported by the local Sertoma Club affiliate, which works closely with the SLHS department on many projects.

Students and supervisors from the SLHS department conducted hearing screenings at the Big Iron event at the West Fargo Fairgrounds on September 12-14. They screened a total of 276 people and (in conjunction with Sertoma) gave away hundreds of pairs of earplugs as well as information about hearing loss.
