Five MSU employees have been selected for the 2017 Luoma Leadership Academy. They are: Lee Vigilant, Sociology and Criminal Justice; Jeff Bodwin, Dean, College of Science, Health and the Environment; Jeff Goebel, Physical Plant Manager; Ronny Bradtke, Admissions; and Jason Sobolik, Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Service.
The MSUM Planetarium has been awarded $9,000 to undertake a large-scale mural project. The MSUM Planetarium, Youth Educational Services (YES) and MSUM School of Art, will plan and execute several large-scale astronomically and educationally based glow-in-the dark murals for the entrance and inside of the MSUM Planetarium. Vicki Riedinger presented at the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) Clinic Director’s Symposium on April 18-19 in New Orleans. Her topics were “Clinic Budgeting 101” and “Advanced Clinic Business Models” which was co-presented with Claudia Mornout, clinic director from Purdue University.
MSUM students gave back to their communities in a big way this semester, by serving as volunteers in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Nineteen MSUM students volunteered a combined total of 415 hours during the tax filing season that ended April 18.
