On behalf of the 330 students who participated in the 18th Annual Student Academic Conference, we would like to thank the campus community for supporting this magnificent event. On April 8, 2016 students from the College of Education and Human Services participated in a global human rights day trip to Winnipeg, Canada. The centerpiece of the tour was a visit to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, a world-class structure dedicated to the understanding of human rights and the promotion of respect for others.

Twenty-nine new members of the freshman honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta, were initiated into the local chapter on Saturday, April 9. ALD honors high academic achievement in the first year of college. Founded in 1924, the society now has 276 chapters and over a million members.
The Spanish program is proud to be inducting five new members into Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society. The new inductees are Brian Anderson, Daniela Guerrero Kossowski, Ashely Leintz, Katharyn Lutz, and Gabriel Mastromano. The induction ceremony will take place on April 13, at 7 p.m., in McLean 273.
