Sherry Lee Short, Art & Design, who is also the Interim Director of Women’s and Gender Studies, had her essay, “Arriving,” published in the Age and Ageism issue of Rain and Thunder. Rain and Thunder is an independent feminist journal that publishes works that synthesize theory and practice and build activism.
Ben Erie and Lisa Karch, both Counseling & Student Affairs, presented at the Children’s Mental Health Summit on Nov. 15. In their presentation, they shared information about the MSUM Community Outreach Center meeting the mental health needs of children who are uninsured in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Konrad Czynski, on Nov. 15 at the Plains Art Museum, under the auspices of “Philosophy For All” organized by Professor Emeritus Mark Chekola, led a discussion with several MSUM colleagues and students, as well as with Fargo-Moorhead community-members, titled “A Dialogue across the Centuries with Marcus Aurelius.” The focus of the philosophical gathering was his Stoicism-imbued reflections traditionally called “Meditations.”
