Sandy Pearce, English, delivered a paper at the Midwest American Conference for Irish Studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Oct 20. Last year, this organization held its annual meeting here on our campus with help from the MSUM and NDSU English Departments.
Oscar Flores, Economics, served as president of the Missouri Valley Economics Association. As president, he organized the 49th Annual Meeting of the MVEA held October 25-27 in Memphis, Tenn. There were over 180 papers presented and an attendance of over 200 professional economists from most states in the nation.
Dr. Kenyon Williams, Professor of Music, will accompany six MSUM student percussionists to the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Austin, Texas Oct. 31-Nov. 3. Dave Weinrich, MSUM Planetarium and President of the International Planetarium Society (IPS), recently gave an invited talk at the Gwacheon National Science Museum in Seoul, South Korea. It is hoped that the country’s planetarium professionals will organize and become IPS’ 23rd regional affiliate.
