Student leaders at a MnSCU University are encouraged to apply for the Jared P. Stene Student Leaders Scholarship, named in memory of a student leader at Winona State University who passed away in November 2007. John O’Brien was appointed president of North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park today by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees.O’Brien, 47, is currently on leave from his position as academic vice president and chief academic officer at Century College to direct the “Students First” project, a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system initiative to improve student services. Tim Wynes was appointed president of Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights today by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees. Zhimin Guan, faculty member in Art & Design, will have four paintings on display in the Office of the Chancellor for the coming year. Additionally, Jill Peterson, an Art & Design student, has had five accepted. The nine MSUM paintings are among the 23 selected from across the institution for the exhibition.
