Winona Chemistry Professor Presents two Seminars Jan. 28

Winona State University Chemistry Professor John Deming presents two seminars Thursday, Jan. 28 in Hagen Hall 113. “Inquiry Instruction That Works: A guide to developing scientific thinking skills” will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and “Evaluation of Inquiry,” a one-hour seminar on effectively assessing inquiry in science, will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. For abstract information, please click the headline.

“Reclaiming” conference at MSUM Jan. 29

The Women in Action Conference Committee invites everyone to participate in the Women in Action Conference Friday, January 29 from 3 to 8 p.m. in the university’s CMU ballroom. This year’s theme is “Reclaiming” and will include a series of panels on topics that include Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness, Embracing Diversity, GLBT Awareness, and Leading a Stress-Free Lifestyle. A Woman’s Perspective on Work & Play Opens Monday

The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County at the Hjemkomst Center is
proud to announce the opening of A Woman’s Perspective on Work and Play,
beginning Monday, January 25 through Tuesday, March 30. A Woman’s Perspective (AWP) is an un-juried, multimedia art exhibition,
featuring visual, literary and performing art by emerging and established
regional artists. This year’s theme is Work and Play, including a special
supplemental exhibit on art aprons as a symbol of the intersection of work and
