TCU NEW Leadership Institute June 5-9

The Tri-College NEW (National Education for Women’s) Leadership Development Institute will be held June 5-9, 2010 at Minnesota State University Moorhead. The intensive five-day residential program is designed to provide leadership training, inspiration, and support for women who do not have extensive leadership experience. There is particular emphasis on recruiting women from groups that have typically been underrepresented voices in the political process. Click headline for more information.

Disaster & Ethics presentation March 11

“Why Should We Care? Disaster and Ethics,” a presentation and discussion led by David Dillard-Wright, visiting fellow, Institute for Philosophy in Public Life at UND, and assistant professor of philosophy at the University of South Carolina, Aiken, will lead this intriguing discussion about one of the most compelling issues we face today at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 11 in the MSUM Science Lab 118. 1,700 students participate in Tri-College math contest

More than 1,700 students in grades six through 12 will be testing their mathematical skills at the 36th annual Tri-College University Mathematics Contest held at Minnesota State University Moorhead on Wednesday, March 17. The competition consists of three levels: two high school levels for students in grades 11-12 and students in grades 9-10; and a middle school level for students in grades 6-8. Vampire Lover talk March 10

As part of celebrating Women’s History Month, Professor Heather Ehrichs Angell will present “The Vampire Lover: A Feminist Engagement of the Fanged Phenomena in Pop Culture” Wednesday, March 10 at 11 a.m. in CMU room 203. This is a brown bag event so bring your lunch! From Bram to Blade, explaining our 200-plus year fascination with vampires, and examining the particular role that gender plays in the vampire narrative.
