The MSUM Photo Guild is sponsoring their annual holiday portrait fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Nov. 10, 11 and 12. It’s a great time to get your Christmas pictures taken! The photo studio is located at 308 King Hall on the MSUM campus. The $20 sitting fee includes images on a disc. Props are welcome. Brad Bachmeier, Art & Design, will have his ninth solo ceramic sculpture and pottery exhibit at the Rourke Art Museum opening this weekend. The show is titled “Ceramic Evolution” and it reflects the growth of Brad’s work as he investigates the power of the element of scale. The exhibition will be open to the public starting with a gallery talk at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 8. The show runs through March 28, 2010. A preview of this exhibition will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6.
Zhimin Guan’s, Art & Design, new landscape painting, The Minnesota Winter, is featured in the Autumn Art Auction in the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks, N.D. The painting will be published in the museum exhibition catalog. The auction event is planned on Saturday, November 7.
The Women’s Studies program hosts the 9th Annual Red River Women’s Studies Conference on Friday, November 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the CMU.
