Social networking to generate business topic of MSU Moorhead workshops

MSU Moorhead will offer two sessions in March on social networking to generate business. Topics include social marketing applications and etiquette, Facebook, Twitter, marketing strategies and driving traffic to web sites and blogs, among others. “Catch the Social Networking Wave: Tips and Terminology” will be from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4 in the Science Lab 118. This session is for those new to social networking and want to learn how to leverage social networking sites to generate business. Cost for this session is $69. MSUM offers Understanding Generational Poverty for Credit or Non-Credit

MSUM is offering a course on Understanding Generational Poverty this spring semester. The course will begin on Saturday, February 27 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm with an introduction to the history of poverty, research, and how the condition of poverty can affect learning and work. It will continue Thursday evenings, March 4 & 11, 2010 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm with an in-depth look at those topics. Click headline for more information.

Deans’ Lecture: All of the Good Metaphors for a Title were Taken: The Great Plains and/in Fiction

Larry Schwartz, Librarian, presents a Deans’ Lecture on “All of the Good Metaphors for a Title were Taken: The Great Plains and/in Fiction” at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 in the Comstock Memorial Union 203. The body of Great Plains and Canadian prairie fiction is large but, outside of a number of acknowledged classics, not widely known – much like the region itself. This lecture will survey some of the known and some of the unknown works that typify the Plains. All are welcome to attend.

Wright Community Gallery of Art, College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois from February 26-April 11, 2010. He is showing work from his Quarry series. Don Clark receives honorable mention in international competition

International Photography Competition. Two of his images will be exhibited at the Photo Marketing Association Imaging 2010 Convention in Anaheim, CA February 21-23, 2010. His work will be included in two 2010 PIEA International Traveling Photo Exhibitions that will tour major conventions, schools, colleges and museums for three years in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and Canada.
