Bachmeier ceramic works commissioned for Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

School of Art Professor Brad Bachmeier was commissioned by the architecture firm JLG, designers of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library to create new works inspired from Bachmeier’s “Conservation Through Clay” series. Bachmeier is the only artist ever allowed to conduct an Artist-in-Residency at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which was one of 10 Residencies he completed in State and National Parks over the course of 11 years. The commissioned works will be related to the Badlands landscape and on display mid-November. The works will mark the second Presidential Library to house his ceramic work in their permanent collection. Bachmeier’s ceramic vessel at the Barack Obama Presidential Center was commissioned by the National Governor’s Association and is now part of the National Archives.
