Geology Students Explore Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Students in Dr. Abshire’s GEOS 102: Geology in the National Parks recently traded the classroom for one of our nation’s finest parks, enjoying a full day of experiential learning in the field. Joining them were four Environmental Geology majors from Dr. Abshire’s GEOS 340 course.

The group explored several trails throughout the day, taking in remarkable wildlife sightings including bison, pronghorn, and prairie dogs. Despite the brisk temperatures, the experience was amazing and offered students a real-world complement to their coursework.
