Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Nancy Moore
Meet MSUM’s new Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership, Nancy Moore. With her background of 30 years in patient care and leadership in nursing student clinicals, Nancy is excited to share her real-life experience with students in the new BSN program.
Start Date: August 18, 2020
Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: Knowing that [MSUM was] starting this new program, that it was going through the accreditation process, and that they got the beautiful brand new nursing lab and simulation lab. I was impressed with all of that and felt very welcomed in the interview process, so when they informed me that I was one of the candidates I was happy. I knew then, it was the right decision.
Q: What is one thing that surprised you about MSUM?
A: The overall feeling you get from the campus… [And] the opportunities to ask and know where your resources are, you’re not put out there to fail, they set you up to succeed.
Q: What unique experience or skills from your last job do you bring to MSUM?
A: The clinical aspect of nursing is my strength and I can really reiterate that to students and talk about a lot of different experiences and real-life situations that have happened to me or other students.
Q: Where is your favorite place to eat in Fargo-Moorhead? Why?
A: I like to go wherever there are food trucks, like downtown food trucks or brewery food trucks.
Q: What advice do you have for the students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program?
A: You have to be able to adjust to constant changes… keep an open mind, be flexible, and adapt to changes that are happening. Go with the flow, that’s not easy for everybody, but it’s going to make the experience more beneficial.
Welcome to MSUM, Nancy. We’re glad you joined the #DragonFamily!
