Join us as we celebrate American Indian Heritage Month in November 2016. A complete list of events is below.
Tuesday, November 1, 2016
- 12:00 PM Opening Pipe Ceremony (Library Porch)
- Laidman “JR” Fox, Spiritual Advisor from Spirit Lake Nation.
- 2:00 PM Construction of Sweat Lodge (next to Sustainability House, 9th Ave. S & 11th Street S.)
- 6:00 PM Sweat Lodge Ceremony (next to Sustainability House, 9th Ave. S & 11th Street S.)
- Students, staff and faculty are welcome to participate. Appropriate apparel for men is basketball style shorts, for women a long cotton skirt and loose fitting t-shirt is appropriate. Come prepared with a towel and water a bottle of water.

- This will be a fun and informal opportunity to learn and practice the Ojibwe language with Robert Tibbetts, White Earth Nation. All levels of comprehension are welcome and weekly participation is not required.
