Show your #DragonPride with non-perishable food item donations for Fill the Dome
On Friday, October 31, MSUM students participated in Trick-o-canning to kick off the University’s support of the annual Fill the Dome campaign. Almost 100 students participated by going door to door around the Moorhead community asking for canned goods and non-perishable food items. The student organizations that helped organize the campus wide Trick or Canning event include Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Tri-Beta and Pre-Health Professionals. Organizations that had students go out Trick-o-canning include: Women’s Lacrosse Team, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Tri-Beta, Pre-Health Professionals Club, Greek Life (Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Zeta, and Kappa Sigma), Dragon Entertainment Group, Beta Gamma Sigma and Counseling and Student Affairs Organization. In addition, there were students from First Year Experience and around campus that came to help out.
The total number of items gathered by students in just two hours totaled 1,120!!! But that is just the start – before Fill the Dome starts November 24th the goal is to gather about 6,500 items. That would be about one for every student, faculty and staff on campus. With the support of the MSUM campus community and others in the Moorhead area we can meet and surely surpass that goal! We encourage members of the Moorhead community to take part in this great event and stop by one of the campus locations listed and drop off a donation! All donations must be dropped off by 3pm Friday, November 21.
