Mahraun releases CD with The Rose Ensemble
Daniel Mahraun, Assistant Professor of Music, is in St. Paul this week performing a series of concerts with The Rose Ensemble, celebrating the release of their new CD. The concerts and CD consist of music from the 19th-century Temperance movement and the Prohibition era.
The fully costumed and staged performances take place at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul: Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m. A release party for the CD, “A Toast To Prohibition,” will take place Friday night at the Landmark Center, downtown St. Paul.
Mahraun solos on several tracks, including the title track composed by Irving Berlin. The CD booklet contains 40 pages of notes researched and written by Mahraun. The disc, distributed by Albany Records, will be available on The Rose Ensemble website , Amazon.com, and iTunes.
