Employee Excellence Awards nominations Due April 29
To: Campus Community
From: President Edna
Re: All Employee Excellence Awards
The Rituals and Recognition work group has made a recommendation to consolidate employee excellence awards and retiree recognition into one event. I have accepted that recommendation to merge the awards including the Academic Affairs Excellence, Student Affairs Recognition and Classified Staff categories. Awards will be given during an All-Campus appreciation luncheon on May 12, 2011. As a result, I am soliciting nominations in all categories for any university employee who is regarded as making outstanding contributions in one of the follow areas:
· Service to Students
· Service to First Year Students
· Service to the University
· Service to the Community
· Excellence in Teaching
· Excellence in Research/Creative Activity
Individuals or groups may be recognized for achievement in a specific category. Nominees should exemplify outstanding attitude, demonstrated through such means as exemplary service to students, going “above and beyond”, and putting students first. Other considerations could be demonstrated innovation and/or quality in teaching, programming, service, responding to the changing student needs, leadership and other creative activities.
There are many deserving faculty and staff who are worthy to be nominated for these awards. If you wish to nominate a person or group, please submit a brief narrative to the President’s Office naming the candidate(s), indicating into which category your nomination falls, and explaining the contribution or achievement. Some detail is helpful, but one or two pages at most, should suffice.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 29. Please forward nominations to Maxine Pianka in the President’s Office in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Employee Award Nomination”.
