Alumni Shannon and Adam Wiedman to speak at Startup BREW Sept. 17
Wednesday, Sept. 17 | 8 to 9:15 a.m. | The Prairie Den in the Black Building, 118 North Broadway, Suite S1 (Come early or carpool for easy parking!)
Alumni Shannon ’07 (graphic communications) and Adam Wiedman ’07 (mass communications), owners of the Starbird Lounge in Moorhead, will be featured speakers at the Startup BREW on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 8 a.m. at the Prairie Den in the Black Building, 118 Broadway N Suite S1, Fargo.
Adam emphasized the importance of the connections he made through Minnesota State Moorhead, which have been invaluable in building their business. Adam, with his background in branding and advertising, had the brand standards and voice for Starbird Lounge mapped out two years before they even found the space. Meanwhile, Shannon’s experience in web design and numbers helped them navigate the financial side of starting a business, from applying for grants and loans to reaching out to investors.
“Our goal with Starbird Lounge was to create a truly great experience. We wanted it to be a place where people can come together in a relaxed environment, sip on cocktails, and enjoy each other’s company,” Shannon explained.
The vibe of Starbird Lounge is distinctly mid-century, with curated music and a cozy atmosphere designed to encourage long, meaningful conversations.
Let’s pack StartupBREW with a sea of RED and show our Dragon pride for Shannon and Adam, who are making Moorhead a great place to live and work.
