Entering Time & Absence in Workday
Workday is coming! Time to review some time entry basics.
Until we can log in to Workday, we can review how to enter time so we are ready for go-live. In Workday, employees can enter, edit, and submit their time, which is then routed to their manager for approval. The basic steps are here; for more resources, see the third box below.
- On Day 1, verify that your work schedule is accurate in Workday by clicking on the Time app in your applications dashboard on the Workday homepage and selecting “My Schedule.” See your supervisor for any necessary corrections.
- Select This Week to enter time for the current work week.
- Click on each calendar day to enter your time.
- Enter your hours worked for the day.
Important to Note
- Time submission is required in Workday for both Non-Exempt and Exempt employees. Employees will record hours to reflect fulfillment of employment obligations for the payroll period, which is based on the employee’s Full-Time Equivalent (FTE).
- IFO/MSCF Faculty only need to submit time-off/absence requests in Workday. Work assignment (duty days) and payroll are calculated based on the assignment and the 9- or 12-month option.
