How to Speak Workday, Passport #3
The Passport to Workday will be a key onboarding resource to prepare and inform future Workday users.
Workday is the cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool offering unified finance, procurement, human resources, student, and staff lifecycle management. Its implementation at Minnesota State is one component of the NextGen Project.
All MSUM employees will use at least some of the resources in Workday. The Passport to Workday is a specifically crafted guide to provide you with resources and information to successfully use Workday.
Passport #3 – How to Speak Workday. In this passport, you’ll learn some comment Workday words to get started. Some examples:
- Employee Self Service – Functionality within Workday that allows employees to access and manage their personal HR, benefits, and payroll records.
- Task – A business process step that you must complete.
- Minnesota State Crosswalk = State employee, student employee, or contract individual that needs access to Workday.
- Staffing Event – Processes found across HR, Payroll, and Compensation business processes.
- Grant Award Schedule – Workday allows the definition of a calendar for a grant award′s particular program year.
