Planetarium collaborates with The Spirit Room for NEA Big Read Grant
This weekend kicks off our unique collaboration with The Spirit Room’s grant work for an NEA Big Read grant award, which requires us to hold a number of events of different types in response to a book we have chosen (“The Bear”) to be the focus of the grant.
Steve Makela, member, Spirit Room Board of Directors, describes it this way: “[This program is a] 45-50 minute multimedia event focusing on themes of land, water, and sky. For the event, I have reached out to three videographers/photographers, each of whom will collaborate with one of three composers to create a self-contained multimedia composition.
We will be hosting showings over the next couple weeks and would love to encourage students, faculty and staff to attend. Students, of course, are free, but I could get comp tickets for anyone else from your programs who would like to check it out. https://mnstatetickets.universitytickets.com/?cid=170
This collaboration is unlike anything we have ever done before in the planetarium and we are excited to share it with the community!
