Dr. Carlson presents at USDLA and Lilly’s Evidence Based Teaching & Learning conferences

In the last month, Dr. Kristen Carlson of the department of Leadership & Learning had the opportunity to present at both the U.S. Distance Learning Association conference and Lilly Conference on Evidence-Based Teaching and Learning. Connectivism and shared knowledge was the topic of her discussion at USDLA. At the Lilly conference, Dr. Carlson shared her research on restructuring the power dynamics in the graduate-level classroom working to make the learning environment more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Through participatory research, teacher-graduate students gain first-hand experience on what power dynamics classroom K-12 teachers hold with their students and how to alter them to create a positive experience.
