MSUM elementary inclusive education adds online option

MSU Moorhead is adding an online option for its undergraduate Elementary Inclusive Education degree. Previously, the program was only available on-campus.

The new online delivery method opens the door for students who are employed full time. Students also have the flexibility to choose from 6, 9 or 12-plus credit hours and can complete their field experience in their own community.

“The new online track will make our Elementary Inclusive Education program more accessible for those who are placebound or schedule bound. Paraprofessionals, working adults or those who live in rural areas can more easily pursue their dream of becoming an elementary teacher,” said Ok-Hee Lee, Ph.D., dean of MSUM’s College of Education and Human Services.

The Elementary Inclusive Education program teaches future educators to be prepared for diverse elementary classrooms. The program comes with the option to receive the Academic Behavior Strategist (ABS) Special Education licensure, which allows candidates to work as special education teachers in K-12 settings. The program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
