MLK event was a great success

More than 150 students, employees and community members were inspired, entertained, and challenged at MSUM’s Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. event on January 17 in the Center for Arts. This year’s theme focused on Social Responsibility as we think about our shared human collective. MLK stated that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.”

We enjoyed, and joined in with, singer/songwriter Kwaician Traylor’s soul music, learned about MLK’s teachings and impact from Associate Provost Dr. Frank King, and heard from a diverse panel about MLK’s influence in their lives and how he’s challenged them personally. Big shout out to the MLK planning team and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for making us better.
