Monkeying Around For Class
It was Primate Behavior week in Intro to Physical Anthropology, so Dr. Butler escorted the class to the Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton, ND for in-person primate observation. The outstanding staff provided the students with a tour of the primates in addition to watching the trainers conduct a special training session for each of the four primate species. Students then chose one of the primate species to quietly observe behaviors that may help us gain better insight into our own evolution. This unique opportunity is a class favorite each year and we are thankful for the welcome and education provided by the staff and animals.
