Former VP Earl Herring Dies
Former Vice President of Administrative Affairs Earl R. Herring recently passed away at his home in Maple Grove. He was born January 14, 1928 and was on the faculty at Minot State College and Hibbing Community College before coming to what was then Moorhead State College in 1959. He served as VP of Administrative Affairs until his retirement in 1987.
He also served on, and later chaired, the Minnesota Higher Education Facilities Authority from 1972-1989. He was active in the Moorhead Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club and Trinity Lutheran Church, and, in retirement, the Cormorant Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and three daughters, one son, and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
