Matt Craig elected to Coordination Committee for Astropy project
Matt Craig, Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, was recently elected to a one year term on the Astropy Coordination Committee, the governing body for the Astropy project. The project provides foundational software for the astronomical community, supporting research at institutions across the country. The project was award the Royal Astronomical Society Group Achievement Award for Astronomy in January 2020 for “producing the exceedingly valuable research toolkit Astropy and fostering professional software development skills in the community. “
