Safe Zone – April Trainings

Learn how to be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community and sign up for Safe Zone training! Facilitated by the Rainbow Dragon Center’s team of Safe Zone Peer Educators, this training introduces students to LGBTQ+ identities, experiences, and issues, providing a foundation of knowledge and skills for participants to become better allies. Topics covered include: LGBTQ+ terminology, privilege, heteronormativity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, coming out, how to be an ally, campus and community resources, and real-life scenarios to apply your knowledge.

Trainings will be offered via Zoom with live captioning on the following days and times this month:

  • Tuesday, April 6th from 3:00-5:00pm
  • Friday, April 16th from 10:00am-12:00pm
  • Friday, April 23rd from11:00am-1:00pm

Participants who complete Safe Zone training receive a Safe Zone sticker to display and earn a valuable resume line to let future employers know you have skills to build an inclusive workplace.
