Turnitin: Similarity Detection Tool Training  

Turnitin, a similarity detection tool, is available campus wide as of Fall 2020. Faculty interested in utilizing Turnitin for one or more of their writing assignments in any of their courses (fall or spring semester) are invited to join a training session on Thursday, October 15th 2:00-3:00 pm via Zoom on how to use this tool for assignments within D2L Brightspace.

Online Proctoring: Respondus Lockdown Browser & Monitor Training  

Respondus Lockdown Browser & Respondus Monitor, online proctoring tools, is now available in all D2L Brightspace courses as of Fall 2020. Faculty interested in utilizing Respondus LockDown Browser (prohibiting students from opening new tabs or windows in their browser) or Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor (records students while testing and flags suspicious testing behavior through automated processes) are invited to join a training session on Thursday, October 15th 3:15-4:15 pm via Zoom to learn more about the tool and how it integrates into D2L Brightspace for assessments.

Online Essentials   

Faculty are invited to explore instructional design tools assembled to guide successful online course design and facilitation with the Office of Online Learning on Thursday, October 29th 3:00-4:00 pm. This session addresses:

  • D2L Brightspace utilization  
  • Emerging elements of Universal Design  
  • Course facilitation  
  • How to gain access to Essentials resources, including:  
  • Online Essentials Checklist  
  • Online Essentials D2L Brightspace Course  
  • D2L Brightspace Starter Pack
