Study abroad scholarships
Studying abroad can be a life-changing experience! The Gilman Scholarship Program provides up to $5,000 (or $8,000 including the Critical Need Language Award) for undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens and Federal Pell Grant recipients to participate in in-person or virtual international programs.
The Gilman-McCain Scholarship is also open! It provides $5,000 scholarships for child dependents of active-duty military personnel who receive any type of Title IV Federal Financial Aid to study or intern abroad.
Deadlines & Timeline
The October 2020 Deadline application is open for students whose in-person or virtual international programs start between January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021.
Please be aware that the application and advisor certification deadlines are in Pacific Time and take into consideration any time difference as students prepare to submit their applications.
The October 2020 Deadline application may encompass programs during the following terms:
• Spring 2021
• Fall 2021
• Academic Year 2021-2022
If an applicant was not selected during a previous application cycle, they may re-apply for the October 2020 deadline application as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements and their program falls within the start dates.
