Physics & Astronomy faculty to present at spring meeting

The MSUM Department of Physics and Astronomy will have three faculty members present at the Spring MN American Association of Physics Teachers spring meeting this Saturday. Ananda Shastri will present about successfully “Adapting the single-photon interference experiment to an online lab format.” Juan Cabanela’s presentation is on “How to use an iPad as a virtual blackboard.” Steve Lindaas will be discussing about instructional pedagogy “Think, Pair, Share – Is it possible on Zoom?” The spring meeting will be held online and this year is focused on tips, tricks, and resources for teaching physics online.

Steve Lindaas is also hosting weekly meetings for regional physics educators that are coordinated by the GO4ST8 physics group which is part of the MN Science Teachers Association. This group has been compiling resources and discussing ideas concerning pedagogy and content delivery. The group will be meeting monthly this summer to help coordinate planning for next year.
