MSUM Earns Non-Profit Viewer’s Choice for Sertoma’s Holiday Lights
MSU Moorhead not only lights up the campus mall during the holiday season, we proudly display our Dragon pride at the annual Sertoma Holiday Lights in Lindenwood Park.
From late November to early January, 9,303 cars drove through the park to experience the magic of the holiday season, even with the event closed for five days due to weather. This year, MSUM earned the Non-Profit Viewer’s Choice for the front gates holiday lights display.
On Dec. 9-10, MSUM students from the national student Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Collegiate Sertoma group volunteered to take tickets for entrance into the park, where park visitors received a complimentary ticket to an MSUM sporting event. Fargo-Moorhead Sertoma Club donates funds from the holiday lights to MSUM’s Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences projects and scholarships each year. This year, the FM Sertoma Club donated $33,240 to MSUM’s Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Department and has donated many of the pieces of the new equipment the department uses.
Jennifer Donahue from MSUM’s marketing department created the graphics and details for the display, while MSUM’s physical plant staff assembled the display in the park.
Thanks to all who made the display possible!
