Steve Lindaas and Noyce Scholar Erick Quintana attended conference

Steve Lindaas, Physics and Astronomy, and Erick Quintana, Physics Education major and Noyce Scholar, attended the Minnesota Conference on Science Education in St. Cloud on November 8th. They presented a session titled “Making Waves: Can you hear me now?” The session was very popular especially when they used sound to break glass.

The MSUM Noyce Program “Preparing STEM Teachers to Successfully Navigate the Urban to Rural Gradient” is funded by a 1.2 million dollar grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The purpose of the Noyce Program is to prepare excellent STEM teachers. The program has paid summer education internships and competitive scholarships for STEM majors adding and a secondary education major.
